The Good... The Bad... and the Pretty Good
The Good: Live Free or Die Hard
I liked the new installment of the Die Hard Franchise. I am, admittedly, a fan of Bruce Willis and the "Wise Cracking Action Hero" genre. The stunts are over the top, but if ya ask me... if you pay 9 or 10 bucks for a movie ticket, things better be blowing up! The story was easy to follow and the actors did a great job keeping the audience interested. Timothy Olyphant plays a terrific villian and Justin "Hi I'm a Mac" Long did a good job as the geeky "WTF is happening" sidekick.
The Bad: Spiderman 3
Not too much to say here... the movie was a disappointment to say the least. I think I may download this trash (unless someone gives me a dvd...it aint worth 20bucks) and do some home editing to make the movie worth the time watching it. Essentially it needs to have about 20-40min of gibberish crying and wasted dialog removed. Unfortunatly editing cannot ADD more villian Venom but eh... A little piece of me died inside when I watched that movie. I still have alot of respect for Sam Raimi ... but a little less after that movie (kinda like how I feel about Micheal Cain after "Jaws: the Revenge)
The Pretty Good: Fantasic 4, Rise of the Silver Surfer
Personally this movie was better then pretty good but could have been better IMHO (Jessica Alba's yummy factor not withstanding). The effects were done well but the action was lacking... lots of chasing and little fighting. And wasnt Galacticus a giant dude in a helmet as apposed to a big cloud with finger... but i digress... To bump this movie up to Good status it needed a little more chemistry between the "4" and another fight scene or two....
