Republicans in trouble?

It appears that the Republicans are shelving any attempt to pass immigration reform. "U.S. congressional leaders are giving up on broad immigration legislation that would legalize millions of illegal immigrants and instead will concentrate on border security ahead of the elections", Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said on Wednesday.  The Republicans are quickly loosing my support. The will of the legal residence are being ignored in favor of Business interests and the will of "squatters".

I'm sick of the race card being played here as well... Our limited resources for aid in social services are being consumed at an alarming rate.  History was never my favorite subject, but there are many lessons to be learned in the past from uncontrolled borders, and encouraging lawless immigration. I will still vote for local elections but I will most like not vote for the federal positions or perhaps I will vote Democrate. There is only one thing that these .. er um.. people understand, you have to hit them where it hurts.

ABC to withdraw 9/11 movie?

I was rather stunned (and amused!) that ABC would create a miniseries critical of President Bill Clinton and his aids in the context of how the handled the events leading up to 9/11.  Clearly they wanted to stir a buzz and get some exposure. In other words they wanted to generate some publicity that would translate directly into more viewers. I was not even sure if I was going to watch the show, not because of the movie itself, but actually I have more or less abandoned the big networks programming (one major exception is LOST).

Well in a not so surprising turn of events, Dems are urging ABC to pull the movie.  Wasn’t it just a few years back that Tom Daschle called the decision to cancel CBS's "The Reagans" Appalling? In all farness the Reps were all in arms about that miniseries as well so looks like both sides cannot help but to behave like little children.
